On my soapbox!!

Public Service Announcement:

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Here is a statistic: Eighty percent (80%) of the women who get breast cancer have NO family history of the disease!! Yup, that was true for me.

What can you do? Ladies, be proactive with your health. Do your monthly self-exams, get mammograms and ask questions. Lots of them. Men, encourage the women in your lives to get their checkups, etc. and you also need to do self-exams and take care of your health as well.

There are many organizations that raise money to support research to eradicate this killer of women. You will notice a plethora of ads touting that a percentage of money earned this month will support the cause. Please help as pennies add up to dollars!

Thank you .

Hey! thanks a lot for spreading the word. There's a web site where you can donate with only clicking -totally free-. Check it to learn more @ www.care2.com in the Click 2 Donate part.
Remember it is never too early to begin with the checkups and self-exams. A friend of my gfriend discovered she had the disease 6 months ago. We all are 22 years old...
Can we, men, do something about it? of course, ask lots of questions too, go to the checkups with her and remind her about the self-exams. Remember we are talking about the one you love the most!!!
good luck and good bye.
