- Spent seven hours chatting with computer geeks until 2AM Monday. Why? Seems that the oldest offspring corrupted my computer! After several different scans by different agents, I had to 'recover' my PC. Nasty ad-ware and trojan viruses are not appreciated by the hard drive. The only problem with the recovery process was the fact that I had to download various updates to get my programs to run. It wouldn't even recognize my printer~had to download drivers for it to install. Quite a learning experience I must say and the fact that I got to instruct a Canadian agent on the finer points of our Constitution was a plus. He said that his history was quite boring compared to ours. The cost of all this camaraderie? $129 paid to "Geek Squad"! It could have been a lot worse as in having to purchase a new computer. At least I had the good sense to bring home my laptop from school so I wouldn't have to suffer withdrawal pangs. Lesson learned: Charge the kid to use the computer and it is now password protected. I HAVE to be present for her to use it.
- Spent some quality time @ school with Ms. Perky and knocked out next week's lesson plans. We are ready to roll on Monday morning, plus we are prepped for our in-service on Tuesday. Just have to type up instructions for the sub. It is amazing what one can accomplish when no one is around to bug you.
- The car needed its 3-month oil change and I replaced the struts on the front end. Yikes... $$$ is slipping through my fingers rapidly.
I have plans to have lunch with my mentor from the university on Friday before she leaves for some mega conference in Egypt. She has just published a book on how homelessness affects children's reading skills and she is giving me an autographed copy. Of course, I plan to read it and not let it collect dust.
Just thought I would stop in, say howdy and will catch up with y'all later!!
