Halfway through the holiday break ~ grateful to have the time away from campus and people associated with the campus. Over the life of this blog, I have chatted or complained about FL ~ the king of micromanaging. I alluded to a rough year in my post of 31 October and FL was the major source of my aggravation. Times have changed, however. When we return from winter break in January, he will longer be the boss. No other details here as I can’t be assured that I am truly anonymous.
You would think that I would be turning cartwheels, shouting hurrah, etc. at the thought of him leaving but I am not. Questions hurtling through my mind are: will the replacement carry on the vision of FL or will we be left rudderless? Personally, I don’t handle change very well. Better the devil you know than the one you don’t. I know we have had our differences but believe you me, I have worked for worse than he. To quote a good friend who is in the same situation as I: “It is the uncertainty of it all that is making me nuts at the moment.” Truer words were never spoken!
