The three and-a-half week countdown and tutoring sessions have come to an end. Ms. Perky and I have completed teaching the requisite TEKS mandated by the Lone Star state; now it is time for students to step up to the plate on Friday and knock it out of the park!! I feel positive and I hope we reach our goal of 90% or higher. As I reflect, I know that I did my best to prepare them. It is too bad that I am evaluated on the performance of others, though.
On another note, FL told me that he addressed the school board this week regarding termination of Teacher X. FL has thoroughly documented his case but I would like to know what was 'the straw that broke the camel's back' to end up with termination. All I know is that when FL gets a burr under his saddle, he will move heaven and hell to get what he wants.
Health issues continue to plague our staff:
Teacher and librarian ~ cancer
Teacher ~ pancreatitis
Last Wednesday, the husband of our special ed dept. chair suffered a stroke and our PEIMS person is intensive care ~possible heart attack. YIKES!!! Please send out positive vibes or pray that our campus is restored to good health.
Keep us in your thoughts as we finish this year's edition of the 'Big Mandated State Exam' and survive the last 4.5 weeks of school. Keeping kids focused on school work will be just as easy as nailing jello to the wall!
Adios,
~ba~

Hello, seems we have much in common. I came across your blog by chance. Just wanted to give you a shout out hello.
I wonder what your school was built on. Here we have many areas of contamination.
I love that "jello to the wall" comment. So true. Here they go until June 24th, but it looks like some are done now. :)
I added you to my blogroll, hope you don't mind.
