bet you didn't know this?

Beginning Monday it will cost you $.41 to mail a first class letter, a two-cent increase. If you mail a letter on Sunday be sure to have the correct postage!

Can someone explain the necessity of raising rates when customer satisfaction is clearly lacking? Case in point:

I am awaiting delivery of a package that was shipped on May 2nd. Using the DHL/USPS tracking service, it arrived @ USPS on May 7th and there it sits! Fortunately I am in no big hurry to receive said parcel. Why in God's name is it still sitting there?

Didn't the postal service tell us that there wouldn't be any more increases? Here's how they are covering their bases. If you purchase a 'forever stamp' @ the new price it will cover any future increases. This stamp won't reflect a price hence the name: forever!

Guess my age is showing but I remember buying stamps for a nickel ...

Ok, end of rant!

I'm obviously older than you. When I was a kid it cost 3 cents to mail a letter and 2 cents to mail a post card!

I am with the californiateacherguy. Course I don't know I ever wrote to someone but I did send off for a Lone Ranger ring one time. That must have been a letter because box tops were involved.
