Quick update...

Just kicking back and enjoying the weekend. The first semester is over and grades have been keyed. Students have a FOUR DAY WEEKEND! Since they weren’t going to be in class on Inauguration Day, we assigned homework. To hear their wailing and gnashing of teeth you would have thought that we had assigned a ten-page paper with five references due on Wednesday. The reality? The task is to watch and obtain quotes from President Obama’s address and then reflect. Sheesh, can they tear themselves away from doing nothing to partake of a very significant occasion?

I clearly remember watching John F. Kennedy’s inauguration back in 1961 and knew then that it was an auspicious moment in history. The election of 1960 was my introduction to politics and I have been hooked ever since.

We will be @ school that day for ‘staff development’ ~ hope to persuade Ms. FL to let us watch history in the making. I have already set up my “dvr” to record the day’s events.

ttfn,
~ba~
