Unfortunately this is right on target ~ teaching geography in class has gone the way of the 'horse & buggy'! There isn't enough time to delve into stuff like this in 8th grade. I know for a fact it gets shoved aside so as to teach to the "TEST." I loved being in geography class and learning about other places on the Big Blue Marble.
