It’s party time… On May 4th, 2006, I published my first post on this blog.
I would like to thank Wonko for encouraging (or pushing?) me to get this blog rolling. For some strange reason he has this quirky idea that I have an ability to write. Yes, I am an educator but the two don’t always go hand in hand. My writing may not win a “Pulitzer Prize” but as I have been told: “So what, it’s YOUR blog!”
What a difference a year makes:
--I have more hair on my head (no more chemotherapy).
--I have lost 20+ pounds and I don’t want to find them.
--I participated in a 5K walk without having to be carted away by EMS!
--I am a department chair…more headaches and responsibilities.
--My campus had a winning entry in the district History Fair ~ WOW!
--A former student left this earth way too soon.
--I attended my first professional hockey game.
--I have a vehicle that is not embarrassing to drive on campus!
--My counselor, whom I have known for over 15 years, seems to have dropped out of my life with no explanation. Umm, closure would be helpful.
--Introspection is a valuable tool that everyone should use frequently.
Now that I have one year under my belt methinks I have grasped the concept of blogging. Thank you one and all for being a part of my life whether in the blogosphere or anywhere else.

Congratulations on making it to your one-year blogoversary! Many blogs last only a few weeks or days and then they're gone. You're a perseverer--keep writing and posting. Even when you think no one is reading, there are always lurkers!
