Susie was in my first class I ever taught; I can still see her as a 5th grader, shyly smiling while trying to hide her braces. Even then, she showed her compassion toward others which she continued to do throughout her life.

It is still hard for me to believe that she is gone and that cancer took away such a young life. Even though my religious beliefs tell me that she is in a better place, free from pain and suffering, I still can't comprehend it. Why her? I know that none of us has any answers.

Bye, Susie! Thank you for touching my life and the life of countless others.

"Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted." Mt. 5:5

BA,

I am really sorry to hear about the loss of a former student. I have been there and it is a loss. Those outside our world have no concept of what seeing something like this does to us.

I can't even imagine how tough that news was for you to receive. I'll keep you and Susie's family in my thoughts today.
