It is a very rainy day here in the Alamo city. Considering we have had drought conditions for nearly 20 months, the rain is welcome. My opinion might be different if I were out traversing the roadways to the mall…yuck!!!
Christmas Day has almost arrived. That means an end to gift wrapping and annoying music on the radio/in the stores to many in the blogosphere.
My Christmas is just beginning. This has been the season of Advent, a period of waiting, which will end Sunday evening. Our tree didn’t go up until Dec. 23/24 when I was growing up. We had the Advent wreath to keep us focused on what was to come. Of course, I ALWAYS got to light the candles for the second week since I was the eldest~ much to the annoyance of my brothers!
Midnight Mass is my signal that the season has begun and will end January 6th known as the Ephiany or “Los Tres Reyes” (the 3 kings) depending on where you may reside. We will be singing carols and adoring the Christ child in the manger even if the world outside says that it is over.
My wish: May the new year be one of peace and joy for ALL of you!

Peace and joy sometime seem so elusive, don't they? And yet your wish reminds me that there is always hope that one day this world will experience both peace and joy in abundance. Maybe 2007 will be the year!
